[Dear Diary] 2. Daddy Caddy

Josh and Daddy

It was Daddy Caddy Day!

Daddy always wanted to play golf with his son. When Joshua had practiced playing golf for a month with his dad at a driving range, we thought it would be good to take him to a golf course for the full experience. His father always said that you never really know golf till you’ve golfed on a golf course, with all the works and all the range.

In the Midst of So Many Ducks

The golf course was majestic. On entering, we could see how vast the land was, and even in this vastness, the first hole felt crowded. Loads of people were waiting to start their game, and I felt nervous that my little boy would have to play in the midst of so many strangers. However, Joshua the brave was so calm and enjoyed the game; it was as if he’d been playing pro all his life.

As we went further into the course, we saw a beautiful big lake with the water so clear and so blue, it contrasted with the blackness of the ducks. It was so serene that their quacks felt like thousands of decibels from a megaphone.

Two Boys Playing Golf

My youngest boy, although not a golfer, enjoyed riding the cart and bumping into little animal friends. He met the squirrels and he named one Cubby, I think he really wished it was a baby lion. We fed the ducks in the lake and tried to figure out what they could have been quacking about. It was a peaceful and scenic family outdoor activity.
